Choosing metal garden ornaments for your space
For borders and planted pots
Slender sculptural stakes add height between flowers and grasses. Group pieces at different heights for a natural arrangement, or use a single ornament as a focal point in a planted pot.
Check the dimensions on each product page and measure the space where you plan to display your ornament.
For patios and open spaces
Garden spheres and metal ball ornaments bring shape and texture to gravel, borders and outdoor corners. Choose a size that suits its surroundings and leave room for nearby plants to grow.
Untreated steel can mark paving as it weathers. Position your ornament in soil, on suitable gravel or in a planter, away from surfaces you want to protect.
A finish that changes with your garden
Our ornaments are handmade in Britain and sent unrusted, so you can watch the steel develop its own orange rust patina outdoors. Each piece weathers differently with its position and the weather.
Prefer a pre-rusted finish? Email info@savageworks.co.uk before ordering and we can arrange this for you.
Metal garden ornament FAQs
Will my metal garden ornament arrive rusty?
We send all our ornaments unrusted so you can enjoy watching their natural rusty finish develop in your garden. If you would prefer a pre-rusted finish, email info@savageworks.co.uk before ordering and we can arrange this for you.
How do I choose the right size for my garden?
Check the dimensions on each product page and measure the space where you plan to put your ornament. Taller stakes can stand among border plants, while smaller pieces suit planted pots and compact spaces. For groups, vary the heights rather than placing every piece in a straight line.
Can metal garden ornaments stay outside all year?
Our metal garden ornaments are designed for year-round outdoor use. The natural finish changes with rain and the seasons. Follow the care information for your chosen design, particularly where it includes a coated or coloured finish.
Will the rusty finish stain my patio?
Rust can transfer onto light-coloured paving, stone and other surfaces, particularly during wet weather. We recommend positioning untreated pieces in a flower border, on suitable gravel or in a planter, away from surfaces you want to protect.
